Parlex Capacitive Switch Interface Technology
Applications:
- Appliance interface panels for ranges, dishwashers, refrigerators and washers / dryers.
- Alternative to rigid boards with either glass or injection molded interface panels.
Overview:
Construction:
- Interface cover layer (graphic) material: Polycarbonate or polyester (PET) graphic is laminated to a populated circuit layer.
- Spacer Material: If Light Emitting Diode (LED) indictation is required an adhesive spacer layer will adhere the graphic to the circuit and accommodate the component thickness.
- PTF Circuit: Typically multi-layer silver, dielectric and carbon ink systems printed on a 0.125mm PET substrate populated with capacitive components and LEDs. Double-sided circuit designs are an option.
- Rear Adhesive: Adherence to the customer housing or moulding using a specific pressure sensitive adhesive, based upon the specifc application requirements
Other considerations:
- Glass and other materials can be used as an interface cover layer.
- Incompatible with metal surrounds or base panels.
- Integrate capacitive switching at the early stages of design.
